The CBC Premier League is set to redefine community cricket with a dynamic blend of sport, entertainment, and brand engagement. Below are the key highlights of the competition:
Ten Franchise Teams
Each team proudly represents a signature CBC beer, with unique names and kit designs inspired by the brand.
Ownership & Auctions
Every team will have a Manager/Owner/Captain who participates in the Main Auction to bid for players prior to the season kick-off.
Entry & Sponsorship
Teams secure entry with a R5,000 fee. If a company sponsors above this threshold, their name will be featured on team shirts alongside CBC branding, as well as streaming and social media marketing for every game their team played.
Prize Pool
Entry funds contribute to operational costs and establish an initial R25,000 prize pot. Additional sponsorships will be added directly to the prize pool, increasing rewards throughout the season.
CBC Partnership
Each team will be paired with a CBC representative to provide guidance, support, and ensure smooth tournament operations.
Friday Night Cricket
Matches will be played weekly on Fridays, accompanied by promotional activations tied to CBC offerings, such as: Best player, batsman, or bowler of the match receives a free CBC beer. League leaders in batting/bowling at each round enjoy CBC rewards.
Prizes & Incentives
Teams compete not only for cash prizes but also for beer sponsorships and ad-hoc rewards throughout the season.
League
The CBC League will run over 12 weeks where every team will play multiple games per day in a new fast paced construct.
